Cranleigh Camera Club would like to invite members to visit their Exhibition on the 19th March at Cranleigh Village Hall.

Mike Owen, Product Planning Manager for Canon Europe, was the guest speaker at this week's meeting. He brought along an impressive array of cameras and lenses. In fact, it was the first time this range had been shown in public anywhere in the world!

On the member benefits page are now details on how you can have your printer cartridges recycled whils raising funds for the club.

Due to circumstances beyond the club's control there have been a large number of changes to the programme since the original 'green card' was printed.

The following dates differ from the programme published at the beginning of the season: 3rd Feb, 17th Feb, 3rd March, and 31st March.

In order to catch up with our Competitions following the cancellation of December's because of the snow, we will now have the following Club Competitions over the coming months:

17th February - Set Subjects (Seascape & Food). Usual Set Subject submission rules apply. This is as per the published programme.

3rd March - Open Subject. This is the additional competition and the usual Open Subject submission rules apply. The Judge is yet to be arranged but we will first be asking Jay Charnock who was booked for the December competition that had to be cancelled.

After this, competitions for the rest of the season will be as per the published programme.

For all competitions, please bring Prints and Slides in plenty of time on the night.

Latest placings (January 2011)

Tonight's Club Meeting (Thursday 2 December) has been cancelled owing to the severe weather conditions. The speaker has been re-booked for February next year.

The internal competition scoring including November's set subject scores are now available on the Competitions page.

It has come to our attention that the information regarding the projected image size in the club rules was incorrect. The native resultion of our projector is 1280 by 768 pixels.

Thus your submitted files should be no larger than 1280 pixels wide, and no larger than 768 pixels high. If you exceed those dimensions you image will be shrunk to fit by our competition management software; we have no control of the final quality.

To get best results we recommend you resize your images using your own software to be constrained within the 1280x768 rectangle, and save it as a jpeg of maximum quality.

Our season is starting very soon (2nd September), and we've had to make a few changes to the previously published programme. The altered dates are now:

• 7th October 2010: Michael Hulme with 'My wildlife journey so far
  
• 14th October 2010: David Mendus' wine-themed presentatio
  
• 10th February 2011: Selection for SPA Inter-Club Competition
